About October Sons
October Sons released their debut CD Sessions on October 23, 1999. This six song album, filled with upbeat rockers, ballads and heartfelt songs written by singer/songwriter Chris Peters, has placed the October Sons on the map as a serious originals band. They have played all over the New England area promoting this album entertaining crowds at city parks, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, club venues, high school events and repeat performances at Borders Bookstore in Concord, NH. The song "Green" was featured on NH Tunes.com's Local Band CD Volume I, which was released in the Fall of 2000. October Sons have also been featured on ROCK 101 WGIR FM, 100.3 WHEB FM and WNEC FM, as well as repeatedly appearing on the 105.5 WJYY FM morning show.
The Sons were in the studio from August '00 to January '01 recording their second album, Paint The Town October. This is an eleven song follow-up to the group's highly successful first album and features songs from members Chris, Jason and former Bass Player, Dave. Paint The Town October was officially released on May 18, 2001.
Drawing from a reservoir of over 30 original songs and countless covers, there is definitely something for everyone at an October Sons show. Their music has been well-received by audiences in every situation, ranging from full-blown rock shows to specially tailored acoustic shows, demonstrating the Sons' ability to adapt to any kind of environment. In addition, each member brings more than a decade of professional experience to the stage, so the showmanship is of the highest caliber. Songwriters Chris and Jason have both fronted their own bands over the years, so they constantly trade the spotlight while sharing the stage. Meanwhile, Kurt holds the shows together with his rock solid drumming, expertly complementing every aspect of the songs. Newcomer Al Ponalet brings an energetic, yet simply tuneful bass sound that fills out the bottom and supports Kurt's playing well.
